miles northwest of Jewell Ridge, or 11 miles east of Grundy, moving
southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

War, Cucumber, and Jolo.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to

Interstate 79 between mile markers 1 and 52, and between mile
markers 69 and 76.
Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 96 and 128.
Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 30 and 57.
West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 83 and 95.
Route 119 between mile markers 61 and 80.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

* At 1210 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near War to 7 miles west of Glen Burke, moving east
at 20 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

Safety instructions
Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds, as well as
deadly cloud to ground lightning. For your safety, move to an
interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away
from windows.
Locally heavy rain will quickly reduce visibility and result in
ponding of water on roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and
minor flooding of creeks, streams, and areas of poor drainage.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution to avoid
hydroplaning.
